The 18650 Cylinder Cell Case is a cylindrical can kit for building 18650-format battery cells in the lab. Cylindrical packaging remains a common choice for both primary and secondary batteries because it is easy to produce and mechanically stable, and the tubular body resists deformation under high internal pressure.
The case measures 18 mm outer diameter, 17.5 mm inner diameter and 67 mm height. The case and cap are made of nickel plated A3 steel, while the seal O-ring and spacer are nylon. The top cap includes a built-in PTC thermistor, and top and bottom insulators are part of the set.
For safety, the cap carries an anti-explosive valve that opens at 2.5 MPa, venting excess internal pressure so the can does not explode. Each piece weighs 9.50 g.
