Aligned multi walled carbon nanotubes are cylindrical carbon nanostructures made of several concentric graphitic walls. Unlike randomly tangled nanotube powders, the tubes are grown in a common orientation, which gives the material directional mechanical, thermal, and electrical behavior along the tube axis. They belong to the carbon nanomaterials group, specifically the carbon nanotube family.
