Normax PA 49 060 Desiccator is an airtight vessel equipped with a stopcock, designed to keep samples dry and free from air humidity during storage as well as during cooling. The stopcock allows pressure adjustment inside the vessel, including light vacuum application, so the drying process becomes faster and more controlled. This vessel is used together with a desiccant such as silica gel placed at the bottom, with or without a perforated plate as sample support.
This tool is commonly used in chemistry, pharmaceutical, quality control, and research laboratories to cool samples after heating in an oven or furnace before analytical weighing. The desiccator is also ideal for storing reagents, standards, and hygroscopic materials so that their quality remains preserved from exposure to ambient humidity.
