Barium titanate (BaTiO3) is a perovskite-structured oxide ceramic belonging to the ferroelectric and dielectric material class. It is widely studied for its high dielectric constant, polarization switching behavior, and piezoelectric response. Sputtering targets are dense, solid forms of this compound used as the source material in physical vapor deposition. During sputtering, energetic ions eject atoms from the target surface, which then condense onto a substrate to form thin films with a controlled composition and thickness.
