Bismuth (Bi) sputtering targets are solid metallic sources made from bismuth, a heavy post-transition metal. In physical vapor deposition (PVD), the target is bombarded with energetic ions in a vacuum chamber so that bismuth atoms are ejected and deposited onto a substrate, forming thin films for research and development.
