This hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) micron powder from Nanografi is a ceramic material with a purity of ≥99% and a D50 particle size of 30-40 µm. Its crystal structure is layered in a way that resembles graphite, yet unlike graphite the material does not conduct electricity.
The powder combines strong thermal stability with chemical inertness and natural lubricity. It has a low density of 0.5-0.8 g/cm3 and a surface area of 0.2-2 m2/g, and its particle size distribution is controlled. These properties make it a good fit for work that demands resistance to high temperatures, very little reactivity and smooth surface behaviour.
Because it is supplied as a fine powder, h-BN blends readily into composites, coatings and specialty formulations, supporting uses that range from metallurgy and electronics to cosmetics and materials research.
- Solid lubricant for high-temperature environments and mold release agent in metallurgy.
- Filler for polymers, resins and composites to raise thermal conductivity while keeping electrical insulation.
- Protective coatings for crucibles, furnace linings and other surfaces exposed to chemical attack and thermal shock.
- Insulating layers, dielectric materials and substrates in advanced electronic and semiconductor devices.
- Research into experimental ceramic systems, nanocomposites and high-performance materials for aerospace and energy.
- Cosmetic ingredient in foundations, powders and skincare to improve texture, spreadability, soft-focus effect, oil control and durability.
