Carbon Nanotube Wire from Nanografi is a continuous, macroscopic fiber built from dense networks of carbon nanotubes. With a fiber diameter of 5-15 µm and tensile strength of 1000-1200 MPa, it serves as a lightweight alternative to conventional metal conductors in demanding applications.
The fibrous structure gives the wire high flexibility and good fatigue resistance, while the carbon nanotubes themselves carry electrons efficiently, giving an electrical conductivity of 5×10^4 - 7×10^4 S/m. A density of 0.5-0.8 g/cm³ keeps mass low without sacrificing mechanical reliability.
This balance of low weight, strength and conductivity makes the wire well suited to reinforcing advanced composites and building ultra-light cabling. It is offered in 1 meter and 5 meter lengths.
- Ultra-lightweight wiring harnesses and data cables for aircraft and satellites.
- Smart textiles and wearable sensors that need flexible, conductive fibers.
- Reinforcement of polymer matrices to produce strong, electrically functional composites.
- Lightweight electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding for sensitive electronics.
- Precision micro-sensors and miniature actuators requiring high conductivity at low weight.
- Conductive additive or current collector in high-performance batteries and supercapacitors.
