This coin style single wafer shipper is a cylindrical container for shipping, transporting and storing one 5'' / 125 mm wafer. It is intended mainly for thin silicon wafers, and the same design also suits glass, quartz, sapphire, GaAs and other thin round wafers.
The shipper is built from three parts: a base, a spider spring and a locking cap. The base has a concave interior, so the wafer touches it only at the edges. Once the screw-on cap is locked onto the base, the eight-point spring cushion keeps the wafer in place, face down, with positive closure. The design absorbs impact, the units stack, and loading and unloading work in both manual and automated handling.
The body is made of translucent, milky white natural polypropylene (PP). This material is insulating with a low dielectric constant and is not hygroscopic, with water absorption below 0.01%. It resists IPA and acetone.
