These graphitized multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) carry carboxyl (-COOH) groups on their surface, at a content of 0.35 wt%. The black powder has a purity above 99.99 % and an ash level of 0.1 wt%, making it suitable for research where low impurity levels matter.
The tubes are grown by chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and then processed at 2800 °C to graphitize the structure. Each tube has an outside diameter of 28-48 nm, an inside diameter of 5-10 nm and a length of 10-30 µm. The material has a true density of 2.2 g/cm3, a specific surface area of 35 m2/g and an electrical conductivity of 98 S/cm.
Multi walled carbon nanotubes are studied across medicine, mechanics, electrical and electronic engineering, chemistry and energy. Pack sizes range from 1 g to 500 g.
