These industrial-grade short multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) carry carboxyl (-COOH) functional groups on their surface, with a (-COOH) content of 0.75 wt%. The black powder has a purity above 92 % and is produced by chemical vapour deposition (CVD).
The tubes have an outside diameter of 28-48 nm, an inside diameter of 5-15 nm and a short length of 0.5-2 µm. Tap density is 0.25 g/cm3, true density is 2.2 g/cm3, specific surface area is 50 m2/g and ash content is 1.5 wt%. The material shows an electrical conductivity of 98 S/cm.
Multi walled carbon nanotubes are explored in medicine, mechanics, electrics and electronics, chemicals and energy, making this material a practical choice for research and development on nanocomposites, energy storage devices, sensors and electronic components.
