These (-COOH) functionalized multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) from Nanografi are carboxyl-modified nanotubes with a purity above 96 wt% and a carboxyl content of 2.2 wt%. Produced by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), the black material has an outside diameter of 8-18 nm, an inside diameter of 5-10 nm and tube lengths of 10-35 µm.
A multi walled carbon nanotube consists of several single walled nanotubes nested concentrically within each other. This structure gives MWCNTs notable electrical conductivity, mechanical strength and thermal conductivity. This grade offers a specific surface area of 210 m2/g, an electrical conductivity of 98 S/cm, a tap density of 0.3 g/cm3 and an ash content of 1.5 wt%.
Functionalized MWCNTs are used in research across medicine, mechanics, electronics, chemistry and energy, including composites, catalysis, sensors, batteries, supercapacitors and display technologies.
- Reinforcing and conductive filler in CNT composite materials.
- Electrode and additive material for lithium batteries and supercapacitors.
- Building blocks for biosensors, nanoprobes and drug delivery research.
- Catalysis and catalyst support studies.
- Components in transistors, solar cells and flat panel displays.
- Hydrogen storage and photoluminescence research.
