These multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) carry carboxyl (-COOH) groups on their surface, with a -COOH content of 0.50 wt%. The black powder has a purity above 96% and is produced by chemical vapour deposition (CVD), making it a practical starting material for research in composites, energy storage, electronics and biomedicine.
The tubes have an outside diameter of 48-78 nm, an inside diameter of 5-15 nm and a length of 10-25 µm. Specific surface area exceeds 50 m2/g, tap density is 0.2 g/cm3 and true density is 2.4 g/cm3. Ash content is 1.5 wt% and electrical conductivity is 98 S/cm.
The material is offered in pack sizes from 1 g up to 1000 g, suitable for both laboratory screening and larger development work.
- Preparation of CNT composites with modified mechanical or electrical behaviour.
- Electrode materials for lithium batteries and supercapacitors.
- Research on drug delivery systems and biosensors.
- Catalysis studies and catalyst supports.
- Development of transistors, flat panel displays and solar cells.
- Investigation of hydrogen storage, nanoprobes and template materials.
