Indium tin oxide (ITO, In2O3:SnO2) is a mixed metal oxide in which tin oxide is incorporated into an indium oxide host. It belongs to the transparent conducting oxide (TCO) class of materials, which are valued for combining optical transparency in the visible range with electrical conductivity. Sputtering targets are dense, solid pieces used as the source material in physical vapor deposition, where they are sputtered to form uniform thin films on substrates.
