Iron sputtering targets are solid metallic sources of iron used in physical vapor deposition (PVD) sputtering systems. Energetic ions bombard the target surface, ejecting iron atoms that condense onto a substrate to form thin films. As a transition metal, iron is widely studied for magnetic and electronic thin-film coatings.
