Lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) is a layered lithium transition metal oxide ceramic, widely recognized as a cathode material in lithium-ion battery research. Sputtering targets are dense solid plates used in physical vapor deposition (PVD) to deposit thin films of this oxide onto substrates for laboratory and development work, allowing researchers to form controlled oxide layers on a variety of surfaces.
