This lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide powder is the NMC 111 grade, a cathode material for lithium ion batteries in which nickel, manganese and cobalt are present in equal proportions. NMC compounds rank among the key energy storage materials used to build the cathode of NMC-type lithium ion cells.
Each transition metal plays its own role in the cathode. Nickel raises energy and capacity, manganese adds stability and supports the electrode structure, and cobalt contributes stability while improving discharge capacity.
The powder has a D50 particle size of 9.9 µm, with D10 at 8.0 µm and D90 at 12.8 µm, and a BET surface area of 0.26 m2/g. It is offered in 100 g, 500 g and 1000 g packs.
- Cathode material for lithium ion batteries in power tools.
- Cathode preparation for electric vehicle cells, including electric power trains and e-bikes.
- Battery cells for consumer electronics such as smartphones and laptops.
- Lithium ion cells for solar energy storage systems.
