Lithium titanate (Li2TiO3) is an inorganic lithium-containing ceramic oxide from the titanate family of mixed metal oxides. Its stable crystalline structure and lithium-ion content make it a material of interest in energy storage and functional ceramic research. Sputtering targets are dense, solid ceramic plates used as the source material in physical vapor deposition (PVD), where the target is bombarded with energetic ions so that its material is transferred onto a substrate as a thin film.
