Magnesium (Mg) sputtering targets are solid metal targets made of magnesium, a lightweight alkaline earth metal. They serve as the source material in physical vapor deposition (PVD) sputtering systems, where energetic ions bombard the target surface and eject atoms that condense onto a substrate to form thin films. As metallic sputtering targets, they are used in thin film research and development.
