Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) sputtering targets are solid source materials used in physical vapor deposition to form thin films of molybdenum disulfide. MoS2 belongs to the transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), a family of layered materials with strong in-plane bonding and weak interlayer forces. This structure gives MoS2 useful lubricating, electronic, and optical properties, and it is widely studied in two-dimensional materials research.
