Molybdenum oxide (MoO3) is an inorganic transition metal oxide that is widely studied for its layered structure and its functional behavior in electronic and optical materials. Sputtering targets are solid, dense plates made from this material. They are used in physical vapor deposition, where ions bombard the target in a vacuum chamber and eject atoms that condense onto a substrate to form thin films.
