Molybdenum Oxide (MoO3) sputtering targets are solid, high-density ceramic plates made from molybdenum trioxide, a transition metal oxide. They are used as source materials in physical vapor deposition (PVD) processes, where bombardment with energetic ions ejects atoms from the target surface so they condense on a substrate as a thin film. MoO3 belongs to the inorganic metal oxide family and is widely studied for its functional electronic and optical properties.
