These nickel tabs are battery terminal strips made from 99.99% nickel, intended for building polymer lithium-ion cells. Each tab measures 50 mm long, 3 mm wide and 0.09 mm thick, weighs 128 mg per piece, and handles a maximum loading current of 3A.
A strip of adhesive polymer tape is already applied to each tab, so it can be hot sealed into the pouch straight away without extra preparation. This makes the tabs a practical choice for lab-scale pouch cell fabrication and battery research.
A recommended sealing approach uses a soft, rubber-faced heat-sealing blade, with the upper blade at 180-200 °C, the lower blade at 160-180 °C, a pressure of 40 PSI (0.3 Mpa) and a heating time of 3 seconds. These settings are a starting point and may need adjustment for individual setups. Available in packs of 100, 250 and 500 sets.
- Serving as the negative terminal of polymer Li-ion batteries.
- Connecting to the cathode current collector as a polymer battery positive terminal, as listed by the manufacturer.
- Hot sealing into pouch cells using the pre-applied adhesive polymer tape.
