Nitinol is a nickel-titanium shape memory alloy (SMA), a class of metallic materials that can return to a predefined shape when heated above their transformation temperature. This 1 mm diameter wire has an austenite finish (AF) temperature of 45-50°C, the range at which the material completes its transformation back to its parent shape. Its combination of shape memory behavior, mechanical durability, and wire form makes it suitable for experimental and engineering work.
