Nitinol is a nickel-titanium shape memory alloy, belonging to the family of metallic shape memory and superelastic alloys. After being deformed at a lower temperature, the wire can recover its original shape when heated above its transformation temperature. It also shows high elasticity, which makes it useful in applications that require repeated flexing. This wire form with a 2 mm diameter is suited to actuation and flexible structural research.
