1,5-DTNA (1,5-Bis((triisopropylsilyl)ethynyl)naphthalene, CAS 2762325-17-5) is an ultraviolet-emitting naphthalene derivative, emitting at λem = 350 nm. Its structure is built on a naphthalene core carrying two (triisopropylsilyl)ethynyl arms, and it serves mainly as the acceptor (annihilator) in triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA-UC), converting visible light into UV with a large anti-Stokes shift.
Paired with the MR-TADF sensitizer BN-2Cz-tBu, 1,5-DTNA forms a green-to-UV upconversion system. When this pair is excited with a 532 nm laser in solution, it delivers strong upconverted emission with an anti-Stokes shift reaching 1.05 eV (367 nm ← 532 nm), an upconversion quantum yield up to 7.6% and a threshold excitation intensity as low as 9.2 mW cm -2.
The material is supplied as a powder/crystal in two grades: unsublimed (≥98.0%) and sublimed (≥99.0%), in 250 mg, 500 mg and 1 g packs.
