1,5-DTNA, or 1,5-Bis((triisopropylsilyl)ethynyl)naphthalene (CAS 2762325-17-5), is an ultraviolet-emitting naphthalene derivative. Its structure places two (triisopropylsilyl)ethynyl arms on a naphthalene core, and it is typically employed as the acceptor (emitter) in triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA-UC) systems that convert visible light into UV light with a large anti-Stokes shift.
When paired with the MR-TADF sensitizer BN-2Cz-tBu, 1,5-DTNA enables green-to-UV upconversion. Under 532 nm laser excitation in solution, this pair has produced strong UC emission with an anti-Stokes shift up to 1.05 eV (367 nm ← 532 nm), an upconversion quantum yield up to 7.6% and a threshold excitation intensity as low as 9.2 mW cm -2.
The material is supplied as a powder/crystal in two grades: unsublimed (≥98.0%) and sublimed (≥99.0%). Its isomer, 1,4-DTNA (TIPS-NPh), is offered in the same grades.
