Ossila 100mm Meniscus Guides are stainless steel accessories for slot die coating that help fix, or pin, the width of the wet coating. By holding the meniscus at a set width, they give a more clearly defined coated film. They fit the Ossila 100 mm standard slot die head.
The guides are supplied in packs of 3, with set coating widths, lip depths and thicknesses so the setup can be matched to the coating job. Guide thickness options are 0.05 mm and 0.1 mm, and lip depth options are 0.5 mm, 1 mm and 1.5 mm. They suit inks and solutions in the 0 – 1000 cPs viscosity range.
Where standard sizes are not suitable, custom versions can be made, including designs that allow multi-strip coatings. The guides work alongside other parts of the Ossila slot die coating range, such as slot die heads and shims, which also help define the coating width of the deposited film.
