These stainless steel shims fit the Ossila 100 mm standard slot die head and set the width of the coated film. Each pack contains 5 shims, offered with predefined coating widths and in thicknesses of 0.1 mm or 0.05 mm.
A slot die head needs a shim to fix how wide the deposited coating will be. Shims can also act as spacers between the sections of the head, changing the internal pressure so the head can handle higher flow rates. They suit inks and solutions across a viscosity range of 0 – 1000 cPs.
Custom shim designs are also available for users with more specific needs, including layouts that produce multi-strip coatings. The shims can be combined with other slot die accessories, such as meniscus guides, to further refine the coating width.
