T2T, or 2,4,6-tris(biphenyl-3-yl)-1,3,5-triazine, is a sublimed organic semiconductor from Ossila, supplied at >99.0% purity (HPLC) as an off-white powder or crystals. It is a common choice as a host for phosphorescent OLEDs and as an electron transport layer (ETL) material in TADF-OLEDs.
Its structure combines an electron-withdrawing triazine centre with three electron-rich biphenyl arms. Because the molecule is electron-deficient, T2T and related derivatives also act as acceptors that form exciplexes in blue-emitting TADF devices. Reported energy levels are HOMO 6.5 eV and LUMO 3.0 eV, with a triplet energy (T1) of 2.80 eV.
Sublimation purification gives an ultra pure grade suited to vacuum-deposited device work. In published green devices using T2T as host, a maximum EQE of 17.5% and power efficiency of 65.2 lm/W have been reported, and a green TADF device with a T2T layer reached a maximum EQE of 21%.
