4',4''',4'''''-(1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl)tris([1,1'-biphenyl]-4-amine), commonly abbreviated TABPT, is a trigonal amine building block used to construct covalent organic frameworks (COFs). Its central triazine core carries a [1,1'-biphenyl]-4-amine arm at each of the 2, 4 and 6 positions, giving a tripodal geometry suited to cross-linked, porous networks.
The amine groups undergo polycondensation with aldehyde partners to form imine-linked frameworks. Reported examples include C6-TRZ-TFP, which reached an overpotential of 200 mV for electrochemical hydrogen evolution in 0.5 M aqueous H2SO4, and COF-4, with a band gap of 1.95 eV, used for NADH photoregeneration and formic acid production. A benzotrithiophene-based COF made with this linker showed a BET surface area of 1200 m2 g−1, while TFP-TPTPh COF achieved a hydrogen evolution rate of 2712 μmol g−1 h−1.
Ossila supplies TABPT at >98% purity as a dark yellow to pale brown powder or crystals, in 500 mg and 1 g packs.
