4',4''',4'''''-Nitrilotris([1,1'-biphenyl]-3,5-dicarbaldehyde), commonly called TPA-6CHO (CAS 2030105-85-0), is a building block for covalent organic frameworks (COFs). Its tri(biphenyl-4-yl)amine core carries six aldehyde groups arranged with C3 symmetry, and every arm offers two reactive sites. This makes it well suited to forming densely cross-linked networks with hierarchical porosity.
When condensed with a C2 diamine linker, TPA-6CHO yields heteropore COFs that combine two kinds of hexagonal pore and adopt a hollow-spherical morphology. Paired with amine derivatives bearing four reactive sites, it gives 3D COFs with zyg topology. In published work, such a framework stabilised photoinduced donor-acceptor radical pairs and produced hydrogen peroxide photocatalytically at 3324 μmol/g·h.
Ossila supplies the compound as a bright yellow powder with a purity above 98%, offered in 250 mg, 500 mg and 1 g packs.
