4CzIPN-Ph (CAS 1469705-37-0), chemically 2,4,5,6-tetrakis(3,6-diphenylcarbazol-9-yl)-1,3-dicyanobenzene, is an orange-emitting thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) material. It is built on the 4CzIPN framework, with eight phenyl groups attached at the 3,6-positions of the carbazole units. Supplied by Ossila as an orange powder or crystals with an unsublimed purity of >98.0% (1H NMR), it is suited to research on OLEDs, photosynthesis, and time-resolved luminescence imaging and sensing.
Steric effects leave the phenyl rings largely decoupled from the molecular core. Wavefunction analysis points to partial spreading of the hole density onto these outer rings, which strengthens the charge-transfer character and lowers ΔEST. In film, the material absorbs at λmax 406 nm and emits at λem 598 nm, with HOMO = 5.48 eV and LUMO = 2.66 eV.
4CzIPN-Ph belongs to an isomer family with 4CzPN-Ph and 4CzTPN-Ph, in which the two nitrile groups sit at the meta-, ortho- and para- positions of the benzene ring, respectively.
