4CzTPN-Me, or 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(3,6-dimethylcarbazol-9-yl)-1,4-dicyanobenzene (CAS 1416881-54-3), is a thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) material supplied by Ossila as sublimed grade M2215A2 with a purity above 99.0% by 1H NMR. It is the methylated version of 4CzTPN and comes as an orange powder or crystals.
The molecule carries four bulky, electron-donating carbazolyl groups around a dicyanobenzene core, which makes it strongly sterically hindered and twisted. It is part of the carbazolyl dicyanobenzene (CDCB) family, one of the earliest groups of TADF emitters developed for third-generation, highly efficient delayed fluorescence devices, and is classed as a yellow-greenish dopant.
Its twisted geometry and distinctive charge transfer behaviour give it potential in luminescent solar concentrators, where it can show almost zero re-absorption losses, opening a route to efficient, low-cost solar energy harvesting. Sublimation is used to reach this ultra-pure grade.
