4CzTPN-Me, or 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(3,6-dimethylcarbazol-9-yl)-1,4-dicyanobenzene (CAS 1416881-54-3), is a thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) material supplied by Ossila. Product M2215B1 is the unsublimed grade, with purity above 98% by 1H NMR, and appears as an orange powder or crystals.
This compound is a methylated version of 4CzTPN. Its four bulky, electron-donating carbazolyl groups make the molecule strongly sterically hindered and twisted. It is part of the carbazolyl dicyanobenzene (CDCB) family, one of the earliest groups of TADF materials developed for third-generation, highly efficient delayed fluorescence devices, and is classed as a yellow-greenish dopant.
Its twisted geometry and distinctive charge transfer behaviour give it potential in luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs), where near-zero re-absorption losses may support efficient, low-cost solar energy generation. In toluene it absorbs at λ max 498 nm and emits at λ em 561 nm.
- Emitter material for research into highly efficient delayed fluorescence devices.
- Yellow-greenish dopant in TADF-based organic light-emitting diode studies.
- Dye candidate for luminescent solar concentrators with almost zero re-absorption losses.
- Research into high-efficiency, low-cost solar energy generation.
