These Ossila meniscus guides (L3005M3-22) are stainless steel inserts for the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head. Their job is to pin the edges of the coating meniscus so that the deposited film has a well defined width during slot die coating.
Each pack contains 3 guides. The range comes in set coating widths, lip depths and guide thicknesses, with guide thicknesses of 0.05 mm or 0.1 mm and lip depths of 0.5 mm, 1 mm or 1.5 mm, so the guide can be matched to the coating job. They suit inks across a viscosity range of 0 – 1000 cPs.
Where a standard configuration does not fit, custom versions can be made, including designs for coating multiple strips at once. The guides sit alongside slot die heads and shims in the Ossila slot die coating range, letting users build up a setup tailored to their films.
