These meniscus guides are stainless steel inserts for the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head. Their job is to pin the edges of the coating meniscus so the deposited film has a well-defined width, giving more controlled results in slot die coating.
Each pack contains 3 guides. Versions are offered with different preset coating widths, lip depths of 0.5 mm, 1 mm or 1.5 mm, and guide thicknesses of 0.05 mm or 0.1 mm, so the guide can be matched to the coating job. They are suited to inks with viscosities from 0 – 1000 cPs.
Where a standard version does not fit the requirement, custom guides can be made, including designs for coating several strips at once. The guides sit alongside slot die heads and shims in the wider Ossila slot die coating accessory range.
