These meniscus guides are accessories for the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head. Fitted to the head, they pin the edges of the coating meniscus so the deposited film has a clearly defined width, giving more controlled results in slot die coating.
Made from stainless steel, the guides suit coating fluids from 0 to 1000 cPs. They are supplied in packs of 3, with each variant combining a preset coating width, a guide thickness of 0.05 mm or 0.1 mm, and a lip depth of 0.5 mm, 1 mm or 1.5 mm. Available coating widths range from 10 mm to 22 mm, letting users match the guide to the strip width their process requires.
Custom guides can also be produced for more specific needs, including designs that allow multi-strip coatings. The guides work alongside other slot die coating accessories such as slot die heads and shims, which also help define the width of the deposited film.
