These meniscus guides are stainless steel accessories for the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head. Their job is to pin the coating width during slot die coating, so the deposited film has a more clearly defined edge and width.
Each pack contains 3 guides. Variants are offered with predefined coating widths from 10 mm to 22 mm, guide thicknesses of 0.05 mm or 0.1 mm, and lip depths of 0.5 mm, 1 mm or 1.5 mm, so the guide can be matched to the coating at hand. The guides suit inks with a viscosity range of 0 – 1000 cPs.
Where a standard width is not suitable, custom options are available, including designs that allow multi-strip coatings. The guides can be used alongside slot die heads and shims from the same coating range.
