These Ossila shims are stainless steel inserts made for the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head. Placed inside the head, a shim sets the width of the coated stripe, so changing the shim is a simple way to change the width and volume of film you deposit.
Shims can also act as spacers between the sections of the slot die head. Used this way, they alter the internal pressure of the head, allowing higher flow rates. They suit coating fluids from 0 to 1000 cPs.
Each pack contains 5 shims with a predefined coating width, in a thickness of 0.1 mm or 0.05 mm depending on the variant. Available width and thickness combinations include 5 mm, 7 mm, 7.5 mm, 8 mm, 9 mm, 10 mm, 10.9 mm, 13 mm and 15 mm options. Custom shims are also offered for more specific needs, including designs for multi-strip coatings.
