These stainless steel shims fit the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head and set the width of the coated film. This variant, L3005S1-10.9, corresponds to a 10.9 mm coating width with a 0.1 mm shim thickness, and each pack contains 5 shims.
A slot die head cannot define its coating width without a shim. Shims also serve as spacers between the sections of the head, changing the internal pressure so that higher flow rates can be reached. They suit coating inks with viscosities from 0 to 1000 cPs.
The 50 mm shim range covers several predefined widths in 0.05 mm and 0.1 mm thicknesses. Custom shims can be made for other requirements, including multi-strip coatings. Slot die heads and meniscus guides from the same coating range can be added to complete the setup.
