These stainless steel shims fit the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head and determine how wide the coated film will be. A slot die head needs a shim in place to set its coating width, so choosing a shim with the right predefined width is how you control the stripe you deposit.
Shims also work as spacers between the sections of the head. Separating the sections this way changes the internal pressure, which allows higher flow rates. The shims suit fluids in the 0 – 1000 cPs viscosity range and are offered in 0.1 mm and 0.05 mm thicknesses, supplied five to a pack.
Several predefined coating widths are available for the 50 mm head. For more specialised work, custom shims can be specified, including designs for multi-strip coatings.
- Setting the coating width of films deposited with the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head.
- Spacing the sections of a slot die head to change internal pressure for higher flow rates.
- Slot die coating of fluids with viscosities from 0 – 1000 cPs.
- Producing multi-strip coatings with custom shim designs.
