These Ossila shims are stainless steel inserts designed for the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head. Placed inside the head, a shim sets the width of the coated stripe, so swapping shims lets you change coating width and volume without changing the head itself.
Shims also serve as spacers between the sections of the slot die head. Separating the sections in this way alters the internal pressure, which supports higher flow rates. The shims suit coating fluids in the 0 – 1000 cPs viscosity range and are offered in 0.1 mm and 0.05 mm thicknesses.
Each pack contains 5 shims with a predefined coating width. Custom shim designs are also available for multi strip coatings, and the shims can be combined with other slot die accessories such as meniscus guides, which help define the width of the deposited film more precisely.
