These Ossila stainless steel shims fit the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head and are used to set the width of the film deposited during slot die coating. Each pack contains 5 shims with a predefined coating width.
Placed between the sections of the head, a shim sets the coating width. Shims can also act as spacers that separate the head sections, changing the internal pressure so that higher flow rates can be used. They are suited to inks across a viscosity range of 0 – 1000 cPs and are offered in 0.1 mm and 0.05 mm thicknesses.
Custom shim designs are also available for multi-strip coatings. Ossila meniscus guides can be added to define the coating width of the deposited film more precisely.
