These stainless steel shims are designed for the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head, where they determine the width of the coated stripe. Each pack contains 5 shims with a predefined coating width, and they are offered in 0.1 mm and 0.05 mm thicknesses.
Beyond setting the width of the deposited film, the shims can also serve as spacers between the sections of the slot die head. Adjusting this spacing alters the internal pressure, allowing higher flow rates to be used. The shims are suited to inks and solutions across a viscosity range of 0 – 1000 cPs.
They form part of a wider slot die coating accessory range that also includes slot die heads and meniscus guides, so a coating setup can be adapted to the needs of each experiment.
