These Ossila shims are stainless steel inserts made for the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head. A slot die head needs a shim to set the width of the coated stripe, and these shims come with predefined coating widths so the deposited film can be matched to the substrate or experiment.
Shims also work as spacers between the sections of the head. Separating the sections alters the internal pressure, which allows higher flow rates. The shims suit coating fluids from 0 – 1000 cPs and are offered in 0.1 mm and 0.05 mm thicknesses.
Each pack holds 5 shims. Custom shim designs are also available for users who need multi-strip coatings or other specific layouts.
