These stainless steel shims fit the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head and set the width of the coated stripe. Each pack contains 5 shims with a predefined coating width, making it simple to change the deposited film size without modifying the head itself.
A slot die head needs a shim in place to fix how wide the coating will be. Shims can also serve as spacers between the sections of the head, altering the internal pressure so that higher flow rates can be achieved. They are suited to inks and solutions in the 0 – 1000 cPs viscosity range and come in 0.1 mm and 0.05 mm thicknesses.
Custom shim designs are available for more specific needs, including multi-strip coatings. The shims can be combined with meniscus guides, which further help define the coating width of the deposited film.
