These stainless steel shims fit the Ossila 50 mm standard slot die head and set the width of the film you deposit. Supplied in packs of 5, each shim has a predefined coating width, making it simple to switch between stripe sizes on the same head.
A slot die head relies on a shim to determine how wide the coated layer will be. Shims can also act as spacers between the sections of the head, changing the internal pressure so that higher flow rates can be used.
The shims suit inks with a viscosity range of 0 – 1000 cPs and are offered in 0.1 mm and 0.05 mm thicknesses. Custom shim designs are also available for more specific requirements, including multi-strip coatings. For tighter control of coating width, they can be combined with meniscus guides from the same slot die coating range.
