Ac-CNP, or 5,6-bis(4-(9,9-dimethylacridin-10(9H)-yl)phenyl)pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile (CAS 1883400-34-7), is a thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitter that gives yellow to orange light. It is supplied in sublimed grade, with purity above 98.0% by HPLC, for building high-efficiency TADF-OLEDs.
The molecule pairs a pyrazine acceptor carrying two cyano groups with two acridine donors, linked through phenyl bridges. This arrangement creates a bipolar A-π-D electronic structure. In toluene it absorbs at 282 nm and 436 nm and fluoresces at 620 nm, with HOMO and LUMO levels of 5.40 eV and 3.10 eV.
Ac-CNP reaches a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 67%. When doped into an mCP host, reported devices delivered a maximum external quantum efficiency of 13.3%, current efficiency of 38.1 cd/A and power efficiency of 26.1 lm/W, with orange-red emission at CIE (0.47, 0.51).
- Emissive dopant in the light-emitting layer of yellow to orange TADF-OLEDs.
- Guest emitter in mCP host films for orange-red OLED devices.
- Research into donor-acceptor molecular design of TADF emitters.
- Photophysical studies of acridine and dicyanopyrazine based materials.
