The Ossila Air Knife L3005K2 is a drying accessory for the Ossila Slot Die Coater, letting you control how coated films dry. It connects through a push-fit adapter to a compressed air or pressurized gas line, including nitrogen for inert gas quenching, and fits the 50 mm and 100 mm slot die heads with counterbored clamping screws.
Two versions are offered. The Standard Air Knife mounts directly on the coater head via an adjustable bracket, so the air curtain angle and its distance from the substrate can be set. Its shape uses the Coandă effect: air leaving the slit follows a convex curved surface and draws in surrounding air, so the curtain carries more flow than the slit alone delivers.
The High Precision Air Knife has an overlapping lip and interchangeable stainless steel shims that set the quenching width. This reduces turbulence and backflow and gives an even air stream along the full length. A separate mounting system with a Z-axis Tension System and Geared Clamp Design allows wider adjustment of quenching gap, angle and distance from the slot die head without sagging during use.
