The Ossila Automatic Film Applicator (L2009A1-UK) is a motorised coating system that moves your chosen applicator across a substrate at a programmed speed. It works with Mayer bars, blade coaters and gap applicators, as well as Sheen, Baker and Bird applicators, so a single unit can cover several coating techniques.
Stage speed can be set from 0.05 mm.s -1 to 250 mm.s -1 in 0.01 mm.s -1 steps, letting you match the movement to the applicator and the viscosity of the solution for smooth, defect-free films. Coatings up to 225 mm wide can be produced over a travel length of 290 mm, suitable for samples up to A4.
Two stage options are available: an 8 mm toughened glass stage with a printed grid for quick sample alignment and easy cleaning, or an anodized aluminum vacuum stage that holds flexible or foil substrates securely when paired with a vacuum pump. A magnetic quick-lock design allows the stage and drip tray to be removed and refitted easily for cleaning between runs.
